Gentleman's Hardware The Ideal Gifts For The Men In Your Life

I absolutely LOVE buying presents for people, I think its the most personal thing to give someone a present in which you spend weeks thinking about what your going to get them (well I do), remembering all those little things that the person loves, to then select the gifts which you hope they will love as much as you do and is a true representation of themselves and what they adore!

I always find it slightly harder to buy for males, just because the males in my life including my little boy seem to have everything already they want, or at least everything within reasonable cost, No Chris i will not buy you an Eventide Space no matter how many times you add it to your Christmas and Birthday lists! haha!

I came across a gorgeous range of gifts which is ideal for your Dads, Granddads, Brothers or any male you need to get a lovely gift for so thought I would do a review on them and talk you through some of my best picks! so here Goes..

There is so much of this kind of design about at the moment, originating from Restoration Hardware In America, This is one of my favourite stores for inspiration on Gifting / Gadget collections... The pricing can be expensive but there packaging is rustic with great hand drawn images and their product selection is often random but very fun and some cool gadgets suited for everyone!

The Gentleman's Hardware range is a small and concise collection of products which is aimed around 'everything you need for that dapper gentleman' There's nothing better than seeing a Sharp, Smart Man and especially if they have the accessories to go with it, its just the perfect finishing touch.

Firstly lets talk about the packaging of these gifts, which i absolutely love, how a gift is packaged is as important as what the actual gift is!

They all come in a variety of hard boxes with a craft paper lid or a craft paper wrap band printed with the fabulous graphics and typography and bright coloured labels to give it that modern touch.

My Top 3 Picks

The range consists of products such as Waiters Friend, Pen and Pencil Set, Shoe Shine Kit, Tablet Case, Hip Flask and a Gorgeous Globe... All the products are great gifts which can be suited to almost all males and for a varied age too!

#1 Has to be the globe, this is on the top price bracket i know, but i just think this is a piece that will last and can be used in someones office, it would look amazing on a side table in a lounge of the best idea yet is to have it as your bedside lamp as it has a nifty light inside which when turned on creates the perfect ambiance!

The 25mm diameter globe shows off the gorgeous vintage map and comes on a chrome stand and base mixing vintage with modern perfectly.

To complete this the piece comes in a brilliant gift box for that finishing touch.

#2 Is the 'Wet Your Whistle Hip Flask' I am seeing these come back into the market a lot more now, and there starting to become a bit of a fashion statement with quirky hip flask shapes, and silver flasks with obscure engravings to make them more risky!

This one is a a great circular shape in a lovely brushed stainless steel. It has embossed PU around the front with the 'Wet Your Whistle' wording and comes with a brilliant little nesting cup which is placed in the centre perfect for the people who like 'easy measuring'.
This makes an ideal gift for your dad or Granddad who likes a tipple whilst playing a round of golf, or also makes a brilliant gifts for the Best Man and Ushers at someones wedding!

#3 Is the 'Credit Where Credit Is Due Card Holder' This is a lovely little gift for someone, especially if they don't use a full wallet its a great holder to store your oyster cards, Starbucks card and so on. It is made from a lovely felt inner, and has gorgeous faux leather pockets either side for easy storage of multiple cards.
The pockets a lined to ensure cards are inserted and removed with no damage to the felt.
The front has the Gentleman's Hardware logo embossed and on the reverse has the slogan 'Credit Where Credit Is Due' I wish there was a female version of this as I want one!

Gentleman's Hardware Card Holder £11.99

Recommendation!!

I would definitely urge you all to take a look of this fabulous range, it has products in here which you would love to give to your loved ones and suits all budgets too!

Thanks For Reading

Timbergram Anyone?!

I'm not sure if it's just me but no matter what gift your presented with, you always like to receive a fabulous card with it!

I always try to look for the best cards, but never seem to be able to find many unique, quirky and design-led designs when out shopping locally and always end up purchasing ones which are run of the mill.

I came across this amazing Timbergram range, which are such a fantastic idea, they provide postcard style cards which fit many occasions such as Weddings, Birthdays, Celebrations, New Baby and of course Valentines.

So what's so unique about these? Well for starters the designs are bold, quirky and are a statement within themselves, but the best part about these is they're made from sustainable wood! The inspiration for these came from the old 1900 wooden postcards like the image shown below..(I love this!)

All you need to do is write your loving message on the back with Biro and post out like you would with a postcard... These also come with envelopes so you can insert them into here if you have a more private message to write.

Now i'm a bit of a sentimentalist which i definitely get from my mum and hugely missed 'Mamie'! We can never  seem to convince ourselves to throw away cards from our loved ones and special friends, which results in having  keepsake boxes galore and their contents never seeing the light of day. (To be fair some of the designs you wouldn't want them anywhere else but kept in a box!)

The Timbergram Cards are not only a lovely sentiment and card to receive and send but they can become centre pieces within your home, you would love to have these in pride of place displayed out on your coffee table or placed on top of your fireplace, these are cards that will see the light of day and last forever!

Another key factor especially for all you Eco Friendly folks out there the designs are screen printed in the UK on birch from sustainable forests and for every ten cards the company sells it plants a tree in Africa!

If your wanting to see more about this brilliant range then take a look at Gifts4Gifts.com. We stock a broad range of the Timbergram designs making these the perfect add on purchase when your shopping for all your gifts and gadget goodies!

Lastly on a more personal level, I'm not even engaged (yet!) but i think I've found my unique and unusual wedding invites..... no pressure you know who!

Thanks

Homemade Rocket Ice Pops! Yummy!

The sun is still shinning, Yippee! Which means only one thing..... Ice Pops, Ice Pops and more Ice Pops!!

It goes without saying that there are many fantastic ice lollies out there which you can buy from your local supermarket or even the ice cream van doing its daily tour around your street, but being a busy working mum my weekends are precious and i am constantly wanting to make sure they are fun filled for my little boy, or should i say not so little anymore!

I am an avid baker, or at least i try and normally end up making huge cakes which then get uneaten due to my eyes being to big for my belly and them being so rich that you can normally only attempt to eat about 3 spoonfuls!

Due top this mini heatwave i decided to attempt our first Ice Pop Challenge and purchased the fantastic Rocket Lolly Mould Set from Gifts4Gifts which is the perfect gift for my little one and will give us that fun thing to do at the weekend which we can do together and both enjoy!

I looked at lots of various recipes and some amazing Pinterest images and got inspired to try it out for ourselves!

Recipe 1
Orange and Strawberry Ice Pops

1 Whole Orange Juiced and Rind Peeled
2 Lemons Juiced and Rind Peeled
255g Fresh Strawberries
100g Sugar
300ml Water

Method

1. Add the rinds from the orange and lemons to a saucepan with the sugar and 300ml water. Heat until the sugar has dissolved then simmer for 5 minutes.
Leave to cool then stir in the fruit juices and strain the syrup.

2. Puree the strawberries in a  liquidiser with 2 tablespoons of the syrup then sieve to remove any large lumps. Pour into the base of the lolly moulds and freeze for about 30 minutes until solid.

3. Pour the remaining syrup into the lolly moulds and press in the lolly sticks and secure, freeze until solid.

4. When ready to serve, dip lolly moulds briefly in warm water then lift out of moulds and serve.

Recipe 2
Yogurt Ice Lollies

150g Fresh Strawberries
90g Caster Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
500g Tub of Low Fat Natural Yogurt
100g Melted White or Dark Chocolate
60g Sugar Balls or Strands

Method
Put Strawberries, caster sugar and vanilla extract in a bowl. Crush fruit until roughly broken up and the sugar has dissolved.

Mix in low-fat natural yogurt and pour into your lolly moulds, secure the lids and freeze until solid.

Once frozen, take them out of the moulds and dip tips of the lollies in melted chocolate, then quickly dip them in the sugar balls or strands. Serve as soon as they set!

The Verdict

The above two recipes are so easy, and are such a good way of getting your child to eat fruit especially if they don't like eating it the conventional way!

My boy and I had a great time making these, half of the fresh fruit, melted chocolate was eaten before being added in to the recipes and the mess goes without saying, but hey that is what its all about isn't it?!

The Rocket moulds were of great quality, and once you run under warm water they slide out of the casing with no trouble creating realistic Rocket shaped lollies.

The best part was the excitement of them freezing then of course eating them sat outside in the garden with the sun blazing and my feet up... They were both delicious and I will definitely making these on a regular occurrence!!

My next recipe won't be suitable for my boy and is for mummy only.... Pink Champagne Ice Pops, now that's what you call Yum!
